Free ITP Generator
An Inspection and Test Plan lists, in the order the work happens, every inspection and test point on a scope of work, who is responsible, what record proves it, and which points are Hold, Witness, Surveillance or Review. This generator drafts one for industrial work: process piping, rotating and static equipment, pressure testing, flange management, grouting, alignment, tanks and coating, across the ASME and API standards world.
Describe the scope, and the generator builds a 12 to 20 row ITP in the same format as the reviewed SteelClerk template packs: sequenced as the work happens, Hold points where the packs put them (pressure tests, pre-pour and pre-grout releases, final alignment, box-up), Witness or Surveillance for routine fit-up and installation. Preview it on screen, then download it in DOCX and PDF with an email address.
What the generated ITP includes

- Hold, Witness, Surveillance and Review levels assigned per point
- Responsible party and the verifying record for every row
- Practical notes on sequencing and common rework drivers
How it works
- Describe the scope. Discipline, activity, project type.
- Preview the ITP. A full 12 to 20 row draft, sequenced as the work happens.
- Download with an email. Watermarked DOCX and PDF, free.

FAQ
What is a Hold point?
A Hold point (H) means work must stop at that point and may not proceed until the inspection is carried out and the point is released in writing. A Hold cannot be passed over, even if the inspector does not attend.
What is the difference between a Witness point and a Hold point?
At a Witness point (W) the responsible party is notified by RFI and the inspector may attend; work may proceed if the inspector waives attendance or does not attend within the agreed notice, and the activity is still recorded. At a Hold point, work stops until release. Surveillance (S) is monitored on a sampling basis, and Review (R) is verified from documents and records.
Why does the generated ITP say it is a draft?
AI output is a starting draft, not an approved quality document. Every generated ITP carries the line: draft generated by AI, requires review and approval by a competent person before use. Acceptance values are stated as typical and must be confirmed against the OEM manual and your project specification.
Which standards does the generator cite?
Standards are cited by designation only, for example ASME B31.3, ASME PCC-1, ASME Section IX, API 610 and API 686. The generator never invents clause numbers and never reproduces standards text; the edition named in your contract governs.
