NCR Generator
When a check fails, the non-conformance path is fixed: stop the activity, do not cover, coat or continue past the point, and raise a Non-Conformance Report with the tag, the requirement, and the actual condition found. The disposition (use-as-is, repair, rework or reject) is approved by the authority named in the quality plan, the work is carried out and re-inspected, and the NCR is closed with records attached and referenced in the ITP's verifying record.
The SteelClerk NCR generator, which drafts that report from a plain description of the condition, ships as the v1.1 fast-follow to the ITP generator. Leave an email address and you will be told when it opens.
What the NCR generator will draft
- Requirement versus actual condition, stated against the governing document
- Disposition workflow: use-as-is, repair, rework, reject
- Re-inspection and close-out with records attached
- NCR numbering referenced back into the ITP verifying record
Coming in v1.1
The NCR generator is the fast-follow to the ITP generator. Leave an email address and you will be told when it opens.
FAQ
What is a Hold point?
A Hold point (H) means work must stop at that point and may not proceed until the inspection is carried out and the point is released in writing. A Hold cannot be passed over, even if the inspector does not attend.
What is the difference between a Witness point and a Hold point?
At a Witness point (W) the responsible party is notified by RFI and the inspector may attend; work may proceed if the inspector waives attendance or does not attend within the agreed notice, and the activity is still recorded. At a Hold point, work stops until release. Surveillance (S) is monitored on a sampling basis, and Review (R) is verified from documents and records.
Why does the generated ITP say it is a draft?
AI output is a starting draft, not an approved quality document. Every generated ITP carries the line: draft generated by AI, requires review and approval by a competent person before use. Acceptance values are stated as typical and must be confirmed against the OEM manual and your project specification.
Which standards does the generator cite?
Standards are cited by designation only, for example ASME B31.3, ASME PCC-1, ASME Section IX, API 610 and API 686. The generator never invents clause numbers and never reproduces standards text; the edition named in your contract governs.
